If something’s gone awry, don’t panic. We’ll always do our best to put things right. Below you’ll find the important details regarding delivery, returns and refunds.
Our products are living plants, so natural variation in size, shape, colour and seasonal appearance is perfectly normal. Photographs and descriptions are intended as a helpful guide rather than an exact promise of how every individual plant will appear.
A hedge, much like a Labrador or an elderly uncle, will always have a little character of its own.
We take great care in how our hedges and topiary are delivered across the UK. Many of our plants are mature, heavy or freshly lifted from the field, so they travel with rather more dignity than your average parcel.
The good news? For a limited time, standard UK delivery is completely free on all online Portuguese Laurel orders.
We work closely with specialist carriers to help ensure everything arrives safely, promptly and in fine fettle, ready to settle into its new home.

Delivery charges vary depending on the size of the order and delivery location, so the team will happily provide a tailored quotation.

Delivery times are estimates and may occasionally be affected by weather, courier delays or seasonal demand, though we’ll always do our best to keep things moving smoothly.
Once your order has been safely delivered to the address provided at checkout, responsibility for the plants passes over to you.
Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives.
Plants are living things and occasionally a branch may get knocked about in transit despite everyone’s best efforts. If anything arrives damaged, incorrect or looking worse for wear, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery with:
This helps us assess things quickly and work with you to put matters right while everything is still fresh from the journey. Claims reported outside this timeframe may not be accepted.
Once delivered, plants should be unpacked, watered and cared for appropriately as soon as possible.
We’re unable to accept responsibility for plant failure caused by neglect, improper planting, environmental conditions or lack of aftercare following delivery. Plants are remarkably resilient creatures, but they do appreciate a little cooperation.
If you’re unsure how best to care for your hedge after arrival, feel free to ask. We’ve spent many years growing them and are always happy to offer advice.
We very much hope you’ll be delighted with your order, but if something doesn’t look quite right, please get in touch as soon as possible.
Because our products are living plants – many of them lifted fresh from the field to order – we’re unable to accept returns simply because they’re no longer wanted after delivery. Hedges, sadly, aren’t quite as easy to send back as a pair of socks.
If plants arrive damaged, incorrect or looking worse for wear after their journey, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery with your order number and a few clear photographs. We’ll take a look at things and, where appropriate, may offer:
Returned plants must remain in their original condition. We may be unable to offer refunds for plants that have deteriorated due to handling, planting or poor aftercare following delivery.
Where a return is authorised, customers are responsible for arranging suitable return transport. Returned items should be packaged securely and sent using a tracked service, as we cannot accept responsibility for goods lost or damaged during return transit.
Once returned items have been received and inspected, any approved refunds will be processed back to the original payment method within 10 days.
Delivery charges are generally non-refundable once plants have completed their travels and arrived safely at their new home, where permitted by law.
If you need to cancel an order, please get in touch as soon as possible and we’ll see what can be done.
Orders for standard items may usually be cancelled before dispatch. However, once plants have been lifted from the field and set aside for their new home, cancellation may no longer be possible.
Made-to-order, bespoke or specially sourced items may also be exempt from cancellation once preparation has begun.
Once plants have been delivered safely and received in good condition, we cannot accept responsibility for issues arising later due to planting conditions, weather, aftercare or other circumstances beyond our control.
